Leak of an Oil Coolant

Article posted on 26 November 2015

Our client is the UK’s leading manufacturer of combustion, industrial, medical and laboratory gas control equipment.

The Cause of the Problem

Their 40000 sq ft industrial unit in Huntingdon was affected by an overnight leak of an oil coolant after a lubricant tap was left on by mistake on the Friday night after the shift had finished.

The coolant spread across the whole floor area, which left the floor slippy and dangerous, and if intervention had not occurred, would have meant staff being sent home on the Monday.

What We Did

National Home Repairs were contacted at 8.45 pm on the Saturday evening and arrived on site at 6.00 am Sunday morning. The following actions were taken:

- The residue was extracted and decanted for the company to professionally dispose of
- Contents were removed and replaced throughout the process
- All of the floors were scrubbed and cleaned
- A large drying trailer was installed.

The Outcome

There was no interruption to our client's business and the staff turned up on the Monday as usual for work.
